Swimming
Video Workshops for Competitive Swimmers and
Triathletes
Swimming
is a learned skill. Changes in stroke patterns are subtle and difficult
to self-diagnose. Consequently, the best method of improving swimming
efficiency is to have your strokes video-taped and analyzed.
Format:
Groups of 6
swimmers per workshop. Frontal
(head-on) and lateral (sideways) views of the selected strokes will
be filmed from above- and underwater. Preliminary
analysis of the footage will immediately follow the filming. A
DVD will be made of each participant's strokes with voice-over recommendations.
This footage will include slow motion and freeze-frame segments
of the important phases of each stroke. The swimmer can then use
this information for repeated viewing and analysis.
Cost: $100
Next scheduled workshops:
Sundays, July 6, July 20 - 2 to 4:30 pm.
Testimonials
- Video Workshops
“Your discussion of stroke mechanics shatters some
of the myths we have learned from other coaches. The video shows
the swimmer what he is really doing, as opposed to what he thinks
he is doing. For me, the benefit was immediate. I was swimming faster
within a few days and the difference in speed is obvious" Mike B
.
“No matter how hard I trained, I could never get
faster. Jan Prins helped me make changes to my stroke to build power
and speed. My friends could not believe how fast I swam after just
one video session. I told all my friends about the video analysis,
but I'm not sure I want them all to get faster!" Wendy M.
